<p>Gout flares can begin suddenly, often at night, with severe pain, swelling, redness, or warmth in one or more joints. This clinical research study is looking at whether an investigational drug called dapansutrile may help reduce inflammation, joint pain, and other joint symptoms such as tenderness and swelling in adults currently experiencing a gout flare, and whether it is safe. If you are having active flare symptoms now, you may be able to join right away. If you are not currently having symptoms, you may still be able to join a Virtual Waiting Room until your next flare begins.</p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Must have gout diagnosis</li><li>Cannot be currently suffering from any other type of inflammatory arthritis or joint pain (instead of, or in addition to, gout), including: - Rheumatoid Arthritis - Lyme Disease - Lupus - Psoriatic Arthritis</li><li>Cannot have tophi associated with your gout (Tophi are visible bumps under the skin made of hardened deposits of uric acid crystals that develop around joints.)</li></ul>

Sjogren's Disease Research Study

<p>This research study is evaluating an investigational medication for Sjogren's disease. The medication is a type called a T cell engager, given as an injection under the skin once a week for up to 4 weeks, and there is no placebo in this study. Participation lasts about 1 year with 14 study visits, and includes procedures such as vital signs, blood tests, and ECGs, with possible salivary gland biopsies (under local anesthetic) and ultrasounds. Participants stay in the hospital for at least 2 days after the first and second dose, and may choose an optional long-term follow-up period of about 1 additional year with visits every 3 months. Study-related procedures, study medication, and travel support are provided at no cost, and a study doctor will determine eligibility after one in-person screening visit.</p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Diagnosed with Sjogren's disease for at least 6 months (including negative blood tests for Sjogren's)</li><li>Your healthcare provider prescribed at least 2 types of different medications for your Sjogren's that did not relieve your symptoms, or that caused side effects</li><li>Cannot have another autoimmune disease</li><li>They haven't been prescribed at least 2 types of different medications that didn't relieve their symptoms</li><li>Can't have another autoimmune disease</li></ul>

It begins with two screening visits, and those who enroll receive either the study medication or a placebo injection every 4 weeks for 11 months. Participants receive either the investigational medication or a matching placebo under the skin every two weeks for six months, and are also asked to take a daily oral non-sedative antihistamine and use moisturizer at least once a day for about nine months.
