Gout Flare Research Study
About This Opportunity
Gout flares can begin suddenly, often at night, with severe pain, swelling, redness, or warmth in one or more joints. This clinical research study is looking at whether an investigational drug called dapansutrile may help reduce inflammation, joint pain, and other joint symptoms such as tenderness and swelling in adults currently experiencing a gout flare, and whether it is safe. If you are having active flare symptoms now, you may be able to join right away. If you are not currently having symptoms, you may still be able to join a Virtual Waiting Room until your next flare begins.
Qualifications:
- Must have gout diagnosis
- Cannot be currently suffering from any other type of inflammatory arthritis or joint pain (instead of, or in addition to, gout), including: - Rheumatoid Arthritis - Lyme Disease - Lupus - Psoriatic Arthritis
- Cannot have tophi associated with your gout (Tophi are visible bumps under the skin made of hardened deposits of uric acid crystals that develop around joints.)
