About This Opportunity

This clinical study is looking at how safe and effective an investigational medication may be for people living with alcohol-related liver disease. It begins with two screening visits, and those who enroll receive either the study medication or a placebo injection every 4 weeks for 11 months. Total participation lasts about 1 year and 4 months, with monthly doctor's visits that include lab tests, physical exams, liver scans, and questionnaires. Participants who qualify may be reimbursed for expenses and receive a stipend for time and travel; the study clinic can share more details about what's involved.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor has told you that your alcohol consumption has damaged your liver
  • Male patient has at any point in your life regularly drunk more than 14 alcoholic drinks per week / Female patient has regularly drunk more than seven drinks per week
  • Cannot use anticoagulant medication (blood thinners)
  • Cannot be on dialysis
  • Cannot have had a heart attack or stroke in past six months
